Beyond the Classroom

Congratulation to Dr. Lisa Lane and Mrs. Donna Donner - winners of the Ocean First Model Classroom Grant!

To the Elms Community -

Thanks to all of you for continuing to work with us in all of our endeavors.  Building Safety and School Security is always something we take seriously.  Jackson School District Policy dictates that PHOTO ID be presented at the front reception area of each of our buildings each and every time you enter.  When you plan on visiting the Elms Elementary School, either to pick up your child or attend an event, please be sure to have PHOTO ID available including the make and model of your motor vehicle.  This is district policy and must be strictly enforced.  Please inform friends, neighbors or relatives who may be visiting and/or picking up your child(ren) that they will need to produce PHOTO ID at main reception before being allowed to enter or pick up a child.  Also please note that parking on the bus ramp is not permitted at any time that school is in full session.  Please use the main parking lot and the visitor spaces during the school day when visiting our school.

We appreciate your cooperation in this regard as this is for the safety and security of all of our learners, and for everyone in the building.

Sincerely,
Michael Burgos
Principal

From the Principal

Dear Elms Parents & Students,

Thank You for a great year!  As the 2014-2015 school year comes to a close, we here at Elms want to thank the parents & students for an amazing year.  We look back at where the students began in September and we are astonished and awed by how they have grown!  We are so proud of our students and the wonderful people they are becoming.

Summer Reading:   Remember that reading and math skills should be practiced gently over the summer to help with memory.  Summer reading books will be going home with students and every student has a summer reading project to bring in September.  Books will be sent home with students, while the Summer Reading Letter & Project are available in the e-backpack.

Box Tops: The PTN is collecting Box Tops throughout the summer.  You can bring them into Elms and leave them in the assigned bucket every Monday-Thursday between 9am & 3pm.  See the notice, and it’s attachment, in the e-backpack for details.
