Ms. Shields' students show their pride with Red, White & Blue bracelets

Ms. O'Brien's Class read "H is for Honor, A Military Family Alphabet" by Devin Scillian & by Victor Juhasz.  The book is pictured here with Victoria Clayton; her father is Marine Infantry Sergeant William Clayton.  Sgt. Clayton deployed overseas three times with the 3rd Battalion 8th Marines.  He was an instructor at the School of Infantry, where he taught entry-level Marines basic infantry skills and techniques.  He also instructed at Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, where he taught infantry unit leaders tactics, skills and techniques about anti-tank warfare and explosives.  Thank You Sergeant Clayton, for your service and for training the next generation of Marines.

To all our military families, thank you for your service.

Congratulations to our October Bucket Fillers!  Thank you for sharing a smile, a word of kindness, and just overall making Elms a wonderful place!  Congratulations to: Anthony, Antonia, Ariel, Dylan, Ethan, Grace, Gracie, Kaitlyn, Mariella & Sophia!

Congratulation to Dr. Lisa Lane and Mrs. Donna Donner - winners of the Ocean First Model Classroom Grant!

To the Elms Community -

Thanks to all of you for continuing to work with us in all of our endeavors.  Building Safety and School Security is always something we take seriously.  Jackson School District Policy dictates that PHOTO ID be presented at the front reception area of each of our buildings each and every time you enter.  When you plan on visiting the Elms Elementary School, either to pick up your child or attend an event, please be sure to have PHOTO ID available including the make and model of your motor vehicle.  This is district policy and must be strictly enforced.  Please inform friends, neighbors or relatives who may be visiting and/or picking up your child(ren) that they will need to produce PHOTO ID at main reception before being allowed to enter or pick up a child.  Also please note that parking on the bus ramp is not permitted at any time that school is in full session.  Please use the main parking lot and the visitor spaces during the school day when visiting our school.

We appreciate your cooperation in this regard as this is for the safety and security of all of our learners, and for everyone in the building.

From the Principal

Dear Elms Parents & Students,

Celebrating Success:. American Education Week: Thank you to all the parents who attended Parent Teacher Conferences and the In Class Parent Visitation!  We hope it was an enjoyable and enlightening experience for all.

Merry Mural Family Night: Elms will have its first annual MERRY MURAL CONTEST on December 2, 2014.  Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, November 25.  Click here for details and the registration form.

From the Guidance Office: Mark Twain once said, “I can live for two months on a good compliment”.  It’s true that when we are recognized for our accomplishments, we feel good about ourselves.  That’s why at the Elms School, we are making it a priority to look for students who are Bucket Fillers.  What are bucket fillers?  “Bucket Fillers” are those who help without being asked, give hugs and compliments, and generally spread their love and good feelings to others.
