Beyond the Classroom

Summer 2014

Dear Jackson Families:

Enrollment for the 2014-2015 JACKSON CHILD CARE ACADEMY Child Care Program has begun.  To register, please visit the Jackson Child Care Academy link:

http://www.jacksonchildcareacademy.com/

Please note that in order for your child(ren) to attend Child Care on the first day of school, September 3, 2014, payment and the registration form must be submitted and received by the Child Care offices (located in at the Goetz School – Trailer “I”) no later than Friday, August 15th

If you have any questions about our programs and would like to speak to someone directly, please visit the link above for an email link and/or call the Child Care offices directly at  (732) 833-4677 OR (732)833-4637.

Please remember that the LAST day for registration to ensure child care placement for the FIRST day of school is August 15th.  Registration information/requests/payments received after that date will NOT be able to start child care services until the SECOND or THIRD week of school.  Due to safety and procedural concerns, exceptions WILL NOT be made regarding this deadline of August 15th.

Continue to enjoy these summer days!

Sincerely,

The Jackson Child Care Department

To the Elms Community -

Thanks to all of you for continuing to work with us in all of our endeavors.  Building Safety and School Security is always something we take seriously.  Jackson School District Policy dictates that PHOTO ID be presented at the front reception area of each of our buildings each and every time you enter.  When you plan on visiting the Elms Elementary School, either to pick up your child or attend an event, please be sure to have PHOTO ID available including the make and model of your motor vehicle.  This is district policy and must be strictly enforced.  Please inform friends, neighbors or relatives who may be visiting and/or picking up your child(ren) that they will need to produce PHOTO ID at main reception before being allowed to enter or pick up a child.  Also please note that parking on the bus ramp is not permitted at any time that school is in full session.  Please use the main parking lot and the visitor spaces during the school day when visiting our school.

We appreciate your cooperation in this regard as this is for the safety and security of all of our learners, and for everyone in the building.

Sincerely,
Michael Burgos
Principal

From the Principal

Dear Elms Parents & Students,

I hope this message finds you enjoying your children and the lazy, hazy days of summer.  As school days come to an end and summer play begins, please do not forget about the value of continued learning. Please do not let anyone take a vacation from reading!  Involvement in reading during the summer months leads to better academic performance when children return to school in the fall.  Please continue to encourage your child to read; and take part in the Elms Reading Challenge.

I want to thank all of the Elms community for a wonderful school year.  It has been a pleasure working with the staff, students, and parents throughout the year.  I would also like to thank the PTN for all of their support and contributions to our school.

Please know the Elms Elementary school is open all summer, Monday through Thursday from 9AM-3PM.  If you need to reach us or if you just have a question, please do not hesitate to call the school directly.

Good luck to all of our future 6th graders as they strive for excellence in all they do in middle school.  We look forward to seeing everyone in September!  Have a safe and relaxing summer!

Sincerely,

Michael Burgos  &  Dr. Lisa Lane
Principal                     Asst. Principal
