Beyond the Classroom

Ocean County Young Author’s Conference was held on March 1st, 2014:  The Young Author’s Conference is a special event hosted by the Ocean County Reading Association where dedicated writers in grades 2-5 are honored for their display of the love of writing.  The authors participate in a very “adult like” day of workshops that foster storytelling, poetry and creative dramatics. The Young Author’s Conference celebrated its thirtieth anniversary this year.  Elms was proud to send the following representatives:

Maria -  Mrs. O’Brien’s class
Grace and Genevieve  –Mrs. Rudenjak’s class
Evan  –Mrs. Cooney’s class
Dana –Mrs. Tice/Rice’s class
Harry  –Mrs. Donner and Mrs. Beltran’s class
Owen  - Ms. Bischoff’s class

Thank you to our representatives!

Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Lisa Raney

2nd Grade Teacher

It may seem like a "drop in the bucket" but these students have made us proud for the month of February!  Our February "Bucket-fillers" were honored earlier this month for their good deeds.  Thank You Dominic, Aubrie, Danielle, Ayden, Alexandra, Brianna, Naila, & Kaitlyn, for your help in making Elms Elementary a great place!

To the Elms Community -

Thanks to all of you for continuing to work with us in all of our endeavors.  Building Safety and School Security is always something we take seriously.  Jackson School District Policy dictates that PHOTO ID be presented at the front reception area of each of our buildings each and every time you enter.  When you plan on visiting the Elms Elementary School, either to pick up your child or attend an event, please be sure to have PHOTO ID available including the make and model of your motor vehicle.  This is district policy and must be strictly enforced.  Please inform friends, neighbors or relatives who may be visiting and/or picking up your child(ren) that they will need to produce PHOTO ID at main reception before being allowed to enter or pick up a child.  Also please note that parking on the bus ramp is not permitted at any time that school is in full session.  Please use the main parking lot and the visitor spaces during the school day when visiting our school.

We appreciate your cooperation in this regard as this is for the safety and security of all of our learners, and for everyone in the building.

Dear Elms Families,

It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!  ~Mark Twain

Spring is here!

We here at Elms Elementary wish our entire community of learners and parents a restful spring break.
