Around the School

ENJOY THE SUMMER VACATION!
The entire Elms Staff would like to thank the students and families of the Elms Elementary School for a great 2008-2009 school year.  There were so many awesome memories that will forever live in the minds of young and old alike.

We wish the 5th graders all the success as they move on to the Carl W. Goetz Middle School. There is no doubt in our minds that you will continue to do many great things and make us proud!

Enjoy the summer vacation and see you in September!

GET YOUR SURF ON!!
With the school year coming to a close, students tend to shut their brains off for the summer.  While some rest from the previous 180 grueling days of school is helpful, it is important to stay sharp over the summer.  Reading a little every day, practicing those math facts, and going on educational family trips will allow students to be in tip-top shape come September.  Luckily for the students of today, the internet provides some very valuable learning experiences with an enjoyable twist too.  Therefore, the link below is a list of numerous educational websites in all the core academic areas.  So, have fun surfing!  Make sure you wear your wetsuit...the water may be cold!

From Mr. Baginski - June 2009

Its hard to believe that another school year has quickly come to an end.  The students have had a tremendous year and I am very proud of all their accomplishments.  From our young students, who have developed reading and writing skills that will be the foundation of all their future learning to our 5th graders who have completed the first chapter of their journey in education, the school year has been fantastic.  The students success has come as a result of their hard work, the commitment of the staff and the support of the parents.  Everyone working together for the Elms School community has helped to make all of our students great!

Over the summer months, take time to relax and enjoy your families.  Enjoy quality time together traveling, going to the beach, playing ball outside and reading together.  The summer months can go by very quickly, so enjoy each and every day.

There are a number of great opportunities to take advantage of this summer.  The Jackson Library visited the students and explained their summer program and there are many exciting summer recreation programs and camps that will be happening in the local area.

As we close the year, I would like to thank the Elms PTN for their support throughout the year.  All of the wonderful trips, programs, assemblies and activities provided for the students have truly enriched the school year.  Their hard work and dedication to the Elms Elementary School, staff and students is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to the Elms Class of 2009!  I wish you all the best as you begin middle school and thank you for laying a foundation of success for future classes.  I wish everyone a healthy and happy summer and look forward to another great school year in 2009 2010.

Yours in education,
